The next FCARC VE Testing - May 20, 2017

The next FCARC VE Exam will be Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Fox Valley Technical College, 1825 N. Bluemound Drive, Appleton, 54912-2277.
The room number is B142 and the closest entrance is door 12 located on the west side of the building. You can view a floor plan of the College at the following website.
http://www.fvtc.edu/appleton
Registration is from 8 to 9 am. We only have the room until 11 am so we will not be able to accommodate late arrivals.
You must show a photo ID when you register for an exam.

2017 EAA Special Event Station Update - Operators still needed

With the advent of the month of May, sign up for the 2017 EAA
Special Event Station is rapidly drawing to a close. There are still
plenty of operating positions available. If you haven't signed up yet
and wish to operate please do so to insure that you get the assignment
you desire. If you have already signed up and can make any additional
shifts that would be greatly appreciated.

2017 EAA Special Event Station Sign-up

"CQ, CQ, CQ This is W9ZL, Special Event Station for the 2017 EAA Airventure Fly-in calling CQ...."

Yes, it's already that time of year,
the sign-up for this years EAA Special Event Station is now open for
Club operators. I will open it to all ARRL members next week and will
be drawing sign-up to a close at the month of May.
This has to be done so the EAA can finalize their planning into accommodate us
during the event.

As a reminder the FCARC regular monthly meeting is Monday night at UW-Fox Valley. Hope to see you all there. We do have a special guest speaker in John Meyer, NZ9Z, who will regale us with his work with the Amateurs of Sri Lanka, an island nation off the southern coast of India. Known by their amateur prefix of 4S, John will recap some of his work both in-country on DX-Peditions and back home on behalf of the Sri Lankan peoples. John has asked if you have any working 2-meter or 440 gear that you would like to donate for the 4S people, please bring it with you to Mondays meeting.
