2016 EAA Special Event Station Summary

Aug
04

I have compiled a summary of our operations for the W9ZL 2016 EAA Special Event
Station operations at EAA Airventure 2016. In spite of poor radio band conditions due to a solar storm that occurred on July 25 2016 the Event had a successful operation for 2016, logging 612 total contacts. The majority of these contacts (504) where made on the 20-meter radio band (14.260 MHz)again due to band conditions causing poor propagation for the 40-meter band (7.250 MHz).

Here is a summary of the stations daily numbers:

It is with the greatest of sadness that I inform you of the passing of Gloria Root N9SVB.

Gloria and her husband Vern N9RQM have been long standing members of the club and many of you will remember their help with many of the events and especially helping with the trailers we used previously for Field Day.

Gloria will be sadly missed and our prayers go out to Vern in his time of mourning.
