Attention FCARC members:

Due to the recent weekends snow storm and the UW-Fox Valley not being open for our April meeting, we have some very important business to cover during the months of April and May. That is to nominate, have people accept the nomination and to vote for new officers of the club. The following positions are to be voted for in May: Vice-President, Treasurer and 3 x Member at Large positions.

There is a NWS (National Weather Service) spotter training coming up this Saturday Mach 24 at 10am Grand Chute Town Hall. For those that have not attended a spotter training course of for those looking to take a refresher course, I recommend that you do so. In addition to this session there is one coming up in Winnebago County next month. For more information, see the NWS website www.weather.gov/grb

The next FCARC VE Exam will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Fox Valley Technical College, 1825 N. Bluemound Drive, Appleton, 54912-2277.
The room number is B142 and the closest entrance is door 12 located on the west side of the building. You can view a floor plan of the College at the following website.
http://www.fvtc.edu/appleton. Walk-ins are welcome. Registration is from 8 to 9 am. We only have the room until 11 am so we will not be able to accommodate late arrivals.

The sign-up for this years EAA Special Event Station is now open to
all FCARC members. Sign up will be opening to all ARRL members
latter in March 2018. Sign up will be drawing to a close on
May 07 2018. This has to be done so the EAA can finalize their
planning to accommodate us during the event.

The FCARC will be providing communication support for the 2018 Walk MS at Appleton North High School on Sunday, April 29.

The event will start will start around 8:30 AM and will finish around 12:30 PM.

Just heard from Terry/ N9AOT boasting of the 84 degree weather in Florida at HAMCATION. More importantly, Terry picked up the 50/50 prize for this month. It is an openSPOT from sharkRF. Tickets are only a $1.00 and the prize value is $229.00. WOW only a buck for this great new item that does DMR, D-Star and System Fusion. Unit will be raffled at the Awards Banquet on Feb 17. With great sadness that I report that Bob Cleveland - W9HID has become a Silent Key. Bob was FCARC member over the years and was the FCARC Vice-President from 1993-1995.

The 2018 FCARC Banquet will be on Saturday February 17 at the Darboy Club.
Cost for the banquet is $20 per adult and $8 per child. Please make your reservation with Donna and pay her with a check, cash or via PayPal. If you do send a check in the mail, drop her a note so that she can update the headcount.

Note that there is no February General Membership meeting.
