Ham Exams, July 25, 2020

Jun
28

The FCARC is planning on holding ham exams July 25, 2020 at Maplewood Middle School in Menasha.

Because of the still very active Covid-19 virus we will be doing things different this time around. To maintain safe distance between each other we will only test a few people at a time. There will be fewer Volunteer Examiners than what I would like to have so wait times could be long. We asked that you pre-register for this session. Walk ins will be taken but those that pre-register will be tested first.

Please read the following carefully:

FIELD DAY 2020

Jun
26

Field Day 2020 is upon us. It starts Saturday morning at 8:30 with setup and runs through Sunday at 1pm. With Field Day 2020 comes some changes and that is that if you do not wish to wonder out to the club site, you can operate from your home station with your own call and list the club affiliation (Fox Cities Amateur Radio Club) on your submission form and ARRL will publish an aggregate score for all members of the club.

See Terry's email of earlier this week with a full explanation.

Have fun this weekend with Field Day and stay safe

I am pleased to announce the 146.76 repeater is back on the air and is working well.
Huge thanks to Andy, AJ9L, and Mike, WI9MMM, for taking time off from their jobs to be at the site for testing and turning the repeater back on when the tower crew finished. It's great to have it back!

Also an important reminder....

Membership Meeting via Zoom

Apr
19

Great turnout on Saturday April 18 for the Membership Zoom test. Thanks to all who showed up and tested their computers, phones, iPads and tablets. Some tried multiple devises - that was fun! For the foreseeable future we will be meeting virtually with the Zoom platform. Nice thing about zoom, as some found out, you do not need a camera as you can log in with audio only if you wish.

Donna will be sending out an invite via email on the day of the meeting. This will be your link to get into the meeting. This link is for members and invited guests only. Do not publish this link.
