146.76 Repeater - Race the Lake support

by: AJ9L

It's that time of year already!

The 146.760 repeater will be used by those supporting Race the Lake again this year. The repeater will be used for RtL support between 5:30am and 3pm on August 18th.

Please consider using another club or member repeater for non-event traffic, leaving the 146.760 repeater for the event support during this time:

145.330 (-0.6MHz) located in Neenah - Yaesu digital only

443.650 (+5MHz, 100Hz) located in Appleton - Analog and Yaesu digital

Member repeaters:

224.500 (-1.6Mhz, 100Hz) WJ9K repeater

442.175 (+5MHz, 100Hz) WJ9K repeater

442.475 (+5MHz, 146.2Hz)AJ9L repeater

The annual Cycling race around Lake Winnebago will take place this Sunday - August 20th. Our local ARES group has asked if they can use the 146.76 repeater to help their communication as they support the race.

Please gave Race the Lake support communications priority on our repeater on Sunday.

145.330 repeater outage

by: AJ9L

The 145.330 repeater will be taken off air today while the Neenah water tower is repainted; this is likely to take 2 months.

I’ll make another announcement both here and on Facebook when the repeater is once again available.

145.330MHz repeater - Now digital only

by: AJ9L

I've asked the repeater committee and club members via Facebook for feedback; most who provided feedback said they would like to see the 145.330MHz repeater return to digital-only operation.
I also mentioned at the club meeting last night with no discussion or opposition.

I visited the repeater site this morning and switched the repeater to digital only.

If event organizers have a need to use this repeater in analog mode, please let the repeater committee know in advance so we can temporarily enable analog mode.

The Downtown receive for 146.76 is also active.

Thanks to Rick and Mike for helping get our repeater on the air!

146.76 to be used for Race the Lake Support - August 21st

by: AJ9L

It's that time of year again when us cyclists try to make it around Lake Winnebago as quickly as we can.

The repeater committee has been asked if the 146.76 repeater can be used to provide coverage.

Please keep the repeater clear during the event; consider using the 145.330 repeater instead if possible.

Thanks!
Andy, AJ9L

443.650MHz Repeater will be off the air pending relocation - 145.330MHz repeater to have amplifier reinstalled

by: AJ9L

We'll be powering 443.650 off later today preparing for it to be reinstalled at Oneida Heights.

The 145.330 repeater will have a few small outages while we reinstall the power amplifier. This will increase power output by >=3dB and it will mean the repeater itself can be turned down to 5W to drive the amplifier.

The 443.650MHz repeater and '760's downtown receiver will be taken off-air today so Appleton Housing Association can replace the Oneida Heights roof.

The roof work is expected to start in the next 3-4 weeks.

The repeater committee is discussing options; more to follow.
